Board of Directors

 

The Inclusive Directions Board is made up of people with an interest in the provision of quality child care, coupled with expertise in the areas of cultural inclusion, disability and business management.

    Jane Cooper, Chair

 

Jane joined the Inclusive Directions Board in July 2007 and was elected Chairperson in September 2008.

 

Jane brings a wealth of legal and commercial expertise to the Board together with extensive governance experience gained from having served on numerous corporate and government boards.

 

She has a particular interest in early childhood development and in promoting the well-being of all children. She is committed to ensuring that all children are supported to be the best they can be and believes it is critical that we advocate for all children’s needs and rights.

Jane has been re-appointed by the State Government to the Council for the Care of Children.

 

In addition to corporate Boards, in light of her interest and commitment to children, she has been appointed to the following Boards:

·         Child and Youth Health, 2000 - 2004

·         South Australian Dental Service, 2000 - 2004

·         South Australian Youth Arts Board, 2003 - 2007

    Grantley Stevens, Deputy Chair

 

Grantley Stevens has been with Edwards Marshall Chartered Accountants since 1987. He was appointed Senior Manager in 1998 and Partner in January 2002.

 

Grantley is a Director of AW GO Organics Pty Ltd, IEBM Pty Ltd, Nicomax Properties Pty Ltd and Secretary of the Alexander & Symonds Surveyors Group. He has been a Director/Treasurer of Inclusive Directions since September 2007.

 

A fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and the Taxation Institute of Australia (TIA), he is also the current Chair of The Tax Institute in South Australia, and a member of the TIA’s National Education Committee and the National FBT Liaison Group.

 

    Anthony Tremonte, Treasurer

 

Anthony has been a member of the Inclusive Directions Board since 2011. He is an independent Chartered Accountant who has 21 years of accounting experience specialising in small and medium business.

 

As a father of two, Anthony appreciates the importance of providing all children with access to the opportunities and tools to allow them to reach their full potential.

 

    Barbara Potter

 

Barbara is a qualified Early Childhood teacher who has been involved in Early Childhood education for over 35 years. She was a Director at a regional long day care centre for many years and currently does relief teaching at schools, pre-schools and child care centres in her local area. She is passionate about the need for early intervention for young children and the role we play in ensuring the best outcome for their future. 

 

Barbara has been on the Board since the commencement of Inclusive Directions in 2004, in order to represent the needs of rural communities in South Australia.

 

When she is not working, Barbara enjoys hanging art gallery exhibitions at the Naracoorte Art Gallery where she is currently the Vice Chair of the Board. She is also a textile artist and enjoys tapestry weaving and photography.

 

    Maureen Cochram

 

Maureen joined the Inclusive Directions Board in 2011. She brings extensive knowledge and practical experience of educational policy and programs, and community partnerships.

 

Maureen began her career as an early childhood educator and has held senior management positions including appointments as a school Principal, a District Superintendent and a Curriculum Superintendent. She has particular expertise in early childhood, education of students with disabilities, equity and wellbeing.

 

Throughout a long career in public education, Maureen chaired significant committees and was appointed to various Boards including Deputy Chair, South Australian Youth Arts Festival (2004-2006) and Deputy Chair, South Australian Living Artists Festival (2006-2012). She has expertise in governance for non-profit organisations and community engagement.

Maureen holds qualifications in education including Bachelor of Education, Masters of Education and a Graduate Diploma in School and Community Relations.

 

    Robyn Paterson

 

Robyn’s concern for the well-being of families and children has been central to her career in Early Childhood Education. Her roles include teacher, school principal, adult training course coordinator, university lecturer, and special events coordinator at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

 

As the Director of a Mobile Child Care Service and Chairperson of the National Association of Mobile Services, Robyn now works and advocates at state and federal levels for the needs of rural and remote children and families.

 

Robyn holds a University Associate Diploma in Arts and Education, Teacher’s Diploma, Child Care Manager’s Certificate and is a Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner.

 

She is a participating contributor and member of the Children’s Services Network, the Southeast Director’s Alliance and the National Stakeholder Group for the Implementation of the Quality Framework.
 
 

Martin Bryn Dooland BDS (Adel), MBA (SAIT)

 

Martin has been on the Inclusive Directions Board since 2012.

 

·        Basil Hetzel Award for Leadership in Public Health 2012 – Public Health Association (SA Branch)

·        Executive Director Statewide Services in the Adelaide Health Services in the Adelaide Health Service and the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (incorporating SA Dental Service, BreastScreen SA, Donate Life SA and SA Prison Health Services) 2010

·        Several periods as Acting Chief Executive Officer Central Northern Adelaide Health Service (CNAHS) 2007 – 2009

·       Executive Director and then Executive Dental Health Services Victoria 1996 – 2001

·       Chief Executive Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne 1994 – 1996

·        Inaugural Director Statewide Dental Services, South Australia 1988 – 1993

·        Inaugural Director Community Dental Service, South Australia 1985 - 1987

 

Michelle Mayger

 

Michelle has been a Board member since 2012. She holds a Bachelor of Education, Secondary – double major in Drama and English from Adelaide University. Michelle is currently the Human Resources Manager at SA Lotteries.
